We are seeking ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­a Environmental Health and Safety Inspectors to become part of our team!

Your responsibilities will include:

1. Address and eliminate any environmental and safety issues by identifying short term and long range issues that must be addressed.

2. Evaluate and test in various environments including but not limited to noise, illumination, atmospheric conditions, confined spaces and

ensuring proper working environments are established and maintained.

3. Maintain environment records, logs and air control reports (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually).

4. Manage storm water retention program(zero storm water may enter the bay).

5. Act as a liaison between local, state and federal agencies such as DEH, APCD, MIWP, RWQCB, SWRCB, EPA, Coast Guard and US Navy.

6. Conduct daily inspections related to housekeeping and Best Management Practices (BMPs).

7. Communicate with client, subcontractors and all employees on site on environmental issues. 

8. Provide training safety training.

Requirements for this role include:

1. Candidates must have at least 5 years of environmental experience or schooling.

2. Must be very detail oriented.

3. Strong written and verbal communication skills.

4. Must be able to coach and educate employees on the effects of specific jobs and the environment.

5. Strong computer skills, data entry and developing reports.

6. Understanding of EH&S requirements specific to the ship repair industry and with the US Navy. 

7. 24 Hour and 8 hour Shipyard Competent Person training. 

8. Must be able to acquire DBIDS and access to government owned facilities. 

9. Able to work any assigned shifts and work overtime and/or weekends.

10. Physically must be able to lift 50 pounds, walk several miles, crawl in tight and confined spaces, climb up and down ladders and stairs 

without restrictions.
